Alpha Gym
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 29 September 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to online memberships and use of Alpha Gym at 11 - 13 Little Horton Lane, Bradford BD5 0AB. They form the contract between you and Alpha Gym together with the membership plan and price shown before you pay. Contact info@alphagyms.co.uk if you have a question or need a copy.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under consumer law.
2. Eligibility and your account
Online membership is available from age 16. You must give complete and accurate information, keep your login secure and tell us promptly if your contact or payment information changes. A membership is personal and cannot be transferred or shared.
You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to protect it. Tell us immediately if you believe your password or account has been compromised.
3. When the membership starts and online cancellation
Your contract starts when Stripe accepts the first payment and we show or send membership confirmation. Access is subject to successful payment and, for a student plan, staff approval of student evidence.
If you buy online, you may cancel within 14 days after the contract starts by emailing info@alphagyms.co.uk. Alpha Gym will refund payments for the cancelled membership using the original payment method. This cooling-off right is separate from any additional rights you have when a service is faulty or not supplied as agreed.
4. Recurring payments and renewal
The price, billing interval and any annual total are shown before checkout. Monthly plans renew monthly and annual plans renew annually until cancelled. Stripe processes the payment method you provide. Alpha Gym does not store your full card details.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and we will email you a link to update your payment details. If it is still unpaid 48 hours after it fails, your access is suspended until it is paid. We will not charge a price different from the agreed plan without giving reasonable advance notice and a fair opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.
5. Cancelling after the cooling-off period
Cancel renewal at any time using the Manage your membership link in your welcome email, or by emailing info@alphagyms.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless we agree otherwise. You retain access until that date while the account remains in good standing. Fees already paid are not normally refundable for an unused part of a billing period, except where these terms, consumer law or another written Alpha Gym commitment requires a refund.
6. Student memberships
Student pricing requires current, genuine student evidence. Authorised staff review the evidence and delete the uploaded image after approval or rejection. We may request new evidence when eligibility is due for review. If evidence is missing, expired or not genuine, we may reject the discounted signup or offer an available standard plan; we will not take the student-plan payment before approval.
7. Face entry and access
Face entry is optional and available to members aged 18 or over. Staff register you for face entry at reception between 6am and 9pm, when the gym is staffed. Once registered, you can access the gym 24/7. If you do not use face entry, or you are under 18, reception staff will let you in between 6am and 9pm.
Face entry recognises you at the door using the gym’s Hikvision entrance system. Your facial template is stored on the entrance device and in Hikvision’s cloud service, used only to let you in, and deleted on the day your membership ends or you withdraw consent. The Alpha Gym website and member app do not collect or process biometric data. See the privacy policy at alphagyms.co.uk/privacy for more information.
8. Using the gym safely
Follow staff instructions, posted rules, equipment guidance and reasonable health and safety requirements. Use equipment only for its intended purpose, return it after use and behave respectfully towards staff, members, visitors and neighbours. Serious or repeated unsafe, abusive, discriminatory, fraudulent or illegal behaviour may lead to immediate suspension or termination after fair consideration of the circumstances.
Exercise carries inherent risk. Train within your ability, stop if you feel unwell or experience pain and seek appropriate medical advice when needed. Tell staff about an immediate hazard or emergency. These provisions do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
9. Facilities, classes and onsite providers
Opening hours, classes, instructors, equipment and facilities may change for maintenance, safety, demand, emergencies or circumstances outside reasonable control. We will give reasonable notice where practicable and take fair steps if a material part of the paid service becomes unavailable for a significant period.
Personal trainers, physiotherapists, chiropractors and other onsite providers may operate as independent businesses. A separate booking or service contract may apply and will be identified when relevant. Alpha Gym remains responsible for services it directly agrees to provide.
10. Service and marketing communications
We may send necessary messages about payment, entrance access, bookings, closures, security and your account. Marketing email is optional and is off by default. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting membership service messages.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend access while payment is overdue, while investigating a credible safety or security concern, or following a serious breach of these terms. We will act proportionately, explain the decision where lawful and practicable, and restore access when the issue is resolved. If Alpha Gym ends a prepaid membership without fault by you, we will provide a fair refund for the unused period.
12. Our responsibility
Alpha Gym will provide its services with reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, breach of statutory rights, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract began or for business loss arising from a consumer membership.
13. Complaints and disputes
Contact info@alphagyms.co.uk with the details of a complaint. We will investigate and try to resolve it fairly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for legal, safety, security or operational reasons. A change will not remove accrued rights. We will publish the revised date and give reasonable notice of a material change that affects an active membership, including a fair opportunity to cancel where appropriate.
